The Beginning: Starting the Journey to Swole
This is my first video ever about fitness or weight lifting, I talk the simple stuff, no big words, no complicated ideals, just me talking about how I'm getting swole and what I'm doing to achieve that goal. In my opinion there are simply three things that you need to do to get a great looking physique. First is you have to eat right. There are these things that you may or may not know about called macro-nutrients, which are; protein, carbohydrates, and fats. The split of these in your diet should be 30% protein, 15% fats, and 55% carbs. Make sure your cutting out simple sugars and things that can spike insulin levels because that will only slow your anabolic rate or reverse it if serious enough. Second thing is you must train and train hard. Go into the gym with a purpose, think about what you are going to do and then do it! Make a training split: Mon, Chest and Tri's, Tues, Legs, Wed: rest, Thurs: Back and Bi's, and Fri: Shoulders. Keep your rep ranges high 6-12 to build muscle for upper body and 10-25 for lower. Your sets per day should only be around as little as 12 to 20 sets and that's pushing it. Make sure you are hitting your compound moves (bench, squat, dead lifts) first and then doing your isolation moves (bicep curls). Third, you have to rest. If you aren't resting well enough you aren't giving your body time to grow and you wont have the energy to train hard after doing other activities throughout your day.
