Jan Ibarguen - Robot-Assisted Hysterectomy - Real Patients. Real Stories.

Jan Ibarguen has a family history of ovarian cancer, so when her physician found a growing cyst on her ovary during an annual exam, Jan decided to have a full hysterectomy. "Most women I know are very busy and have multiple roles in their life, and taking care of yourself has got to be at the top of that list." At Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano, she underwent a robotically assisted surgical procedure. The less-invasive procedure offers smaller incisions, less pain and less blood loss. After an overnight stay in the hospital and a few days on the couch, Jan was back to normal in two weeks. "The robotic hysterectomy allowed me to get back to my usual routine much quicker. My quality of life is awesome." For more information about robotic surgery at Baylor Health Care System, call 1.800.4BAYLOR or visit BaylorHealth.com.
