Typically an ideal diet would have about six small meals, about 300 to 400 calories, all depending on your calorie needs of course. Now the normal American diet, or a pattern, typically ends up being three larger meals throughout the day. Well the benefit of eating smaller meals throughout the day is that it actually helps to keep your metabolism running high and at a really efficient level. If you think of your metabolism as a fire. It takes a little bit more effort to start a fire. Just like a bigger breakfast maybe in the morning. Once you have the fire going, it's very simple to maintain. Easily throw on a log here and there. Well that is like your next smaller meals throughout the day. You're slowly feeding your fire so it's constantly running and constantly burning. And that metabolism will help you burn that excess fat, keep your energy levels up, and hopefully avoid that afternoon fatigue as well.
