Sally Symonds, founder of Love Your Weight Loss, demonstrates how to do external and internal shoulder rotations. These exercises are great for your arm and shoulder muscles. If you work at a desk all day, be sure to add this exercise to your workout. Start position: Start by tying your resistance band to a wall or something at shoulder height, and step away from this point to create some resistance in the band. Movement: To externally rotate: While holding onto the band, create a 90 degree bend in your elbow joint as though you're doing half a bicep curl. This is the starting point. Now externally rotate your arm out and away from your body. Keep your elbow tucked into your body. To internally rotate: While holding onto the band, create a 90 degree bend in your elbow joint as though you're doing half a bicep curl. This is the starting point. Now internally rotate your arm in towards your body and your wrist ends up almost in front of your belly button. Relax back to the starting point.
